Chevrolet Pickup Throttle Body
The throttle body is part of a car's fuel injection system that pumps burn materials into the engine. A burn mixture is traditionally composed of air and fuel materials, which enter the engine separately. The throttle body handles the air component of the burn mixture.
In the fuel injection system of a Chevrolet pickup, the throttle body is located between the intake manifold and air filter box in the engine bay. It facilitates the air flow from the filter and in to the manifold. It is controlled by the accelerator, commonly called gas pedal. In actuality it is air that the accelerator regulates. When the accelerator is depressed, a throttle cable activates the throttle linkages to open up or close down a throttle plate. This throttle plate opening determines the amount of air that goes into the burn mixture
On Chevrolet pickups with a "drive-by-wire" system, the throttle body is electronically controlled. It has a sensor that determines the amount of air that must be injected in relation to the fuel. It is controlled by the Chevrolet pickup's electronic control unit. Both drive-by-wire and accelerator-controlled throttle bodies are available here in Pits Auto Parts. Featuring an aircraft-grade stainless steel billet, this Chevrolet pickup throttle body is designed up to specs with the required power band of the Chevy pickup.
